25 Days of Praise: Day 3

Today, driving back from a doctor's appointment, I saw birds gathered together on a wire. It was cold and the wind was biting. The sky was gray and overcast.

Suspended high above the ground these birds slept peacefully with their head tucked low to their chest. They weren't worried about the wind, the sky full of threatening clouds or the hustle and bustle of traffic below. Perhaps they knew Who was in control and could trust in that enough to seek a peaceful rest.

Today I praise God for the times of peaceful rest He's given me even when I feel am suspended on a fragile wire.

Psalm 28:7 "The Lord is my strength and my shield: my heart trusted in him and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him."

On another note, I read the December 26th post on http://www.debraweiss.net/ and there's a verse shared that was so beautiful I had to share it here too. But go and read the entire post over there if you get a chance.

That verse was in Isaiah 56:8 "The Lord God which gathered outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him."

I'm glad that God gathers outcasts. That we can be an 'as is' people with Him because He sees us as what 'will be'.

I like this part, "That we can be an 'as is' people with Him because He sees us as what 'will be'."

Profound!
